Portable System! - Scaffolding Overhead wires
Background
Safety cables are used throughout the building, leisure and petro-chemical industries. For clipping onto and giving protection against falls. However, to give temporary access to the building and petro-chemical industries, safety cables are used simply, by fastening both ends to the solid structure. This However, is not suitable for scaffolding, as no solid structure has been built prior to requiring the safety cable. Thus the need for a fully adjustable safety cable fitted above the operatives at all times.
Cable Safe
Cable Safe is a new purpose-made device that enables safe, easy access and positioning for
operatives working at height. It is ideal for use in the scaffolding trade as it gives quick,
safe access to most areas of work.
Manufactured from light weight steel extrusion, the Cable Safe is easily connected to the lower sections of scaffolding. Also rising and falling as the height of the scaffold fluctuates. Consequently there is no reason for any operatives to work in an unsafe environment.
Cable Safe can be supplied in various lengths to suit different installation requirements. However,
the standard Cable Safe will reach most heights and cover various lengths required. Cable Safe is easily
assembled, disassembled and transported when in its "Knock Down" form.
Once Cable Safe is in its initial position it can be elevated to its required height. This can be achieved by the operatives on the working platform or ground personal at a safe distance, away from the scaffold or work area. thus limiting the possibility of ground personal being hit by objects accidentally displaced from platforms.
As a person falls, prior to any fall arrest device coming into action, the added loading is
transmitted through the lanyard and safety cable to the tops of the supports. This brings the two
supports closer together against their natural resistance.
Added resistance is built into the supports. Thus the fall is brought to a swift conclusion. However, should the fall arrest be activated the loadings on the supports will be reduced as the fall is slowed down, thus the resistance in the supports act to stop the fall in more controlled manner.
